La voce del Progetto: an interview with Carlo Stabili

“La Voce del Progetto” continues – a series of interviews with architects, designers and professionals with whom we share visions, processes and projects.

The guest of honour at this latest event is architect Carlo Stabili, founder of Stabili Architetti, a practice specialising in architectural design, interior design and luxury hospitality.

The focus of the interview is Horti 14, a project to transform a former factory in the heart of Trastevere into a contemporary accommodation facility. A journey that began in 2017 and has evolved over time through various design phases. For Carlo Stabili, the starting point was, first and foremost, listening to the site. A unique location, bordering the Botanical Gardens, where nature and architecture coexist in a spontaneous balance.

This has given rise to a desire to create a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior spaces, highlighting light, materials and volumes through a minimalist and sincere approach. In its engagement with our reality, Stabili emphasises above all the human value of collaboration: from the search for materials through to the sampling phase, and on to the technical development of bespoke elements, the project has been shaped by a constant interplay between design vision and artisanal expertise.

A balance between technological precision and the craftsman’s touch, where even imperfection becomes a hallmark of authenticity.
